Safeguarding

Safeguarding children is a priority at Lindow Community Primary School.

All adults in our school have a responsibility for safeguarding. The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mr O'Keefe, the Designated Safeguarding Deputy is Miss Oakes. These staff have completed Level 2 Safeguarding Training, led by the Cheshire East SCiES (Safeguarding Children in Educational Settings) team.

All staff (teachers, teaching assistants, midday assistants, admin staff and the site manager) have completed Level 1 Safeguarding Training, led by the Cheshire East SCiES team. The most recent whole staff training took place in September 2022. All staff, governors, students and volunteers undertake a DBS check, and staff DBS details are kept in a Single Central Record in school.

All staff recruitment panels include a person who has completed appropriate 'Safer Recruitment in Education' training. All adults in school are required to wear an Identification Badge, and must sign in at the school office, where they will be required to read a copy of the visitor code of conduct.

Our Child Protection Policy and Procedures (incorporating Safeguarding) forms a central part of the new staff induction process. We believe that it is important to make children and young people aware of how to keep themselves safe which is supported by our PHSE curriculum and Lindow Life Skills sessions.

The school also signposts access to support for pupils via work done in class, assemblies and our 'Safeguarding' notice board. We invite visitors such as the police and the NSPCC to come and talk to our children or run workshops to ensure they have a full understanding of how to stay safe.  We are committed to multi-agency working to ensure the best possible outcomes for all of the pupils at Lindow Community Primary School.
