Religious Education
Religious Education at Lindow Community Primary School
The vision of the Religious Education curriculum at Lindow Community Primary School is to give every pupil:
- A growing understanding of a range of religions, beliefs and worldviews, and the role they play in people's lives and communities.
- The knowledge and skills to explore, question and reflect on important religious, spiritual and moral issues.
- An appreciation of diversity and the beliefs, values and traditions of people from different faiths and cultures.
- An understanding of how religious and non-religious worldviews can influence individuals, communities and society.
- The ability to communicate their ideas and reflections clearly using accurate and appropriate religious vocabulary.
- Opportunities to develop respect, empathy and open-mindedness through thoughtful discussion and enquiry.
- A strong sense of their own values, beliefs and identity, enabling them to become respectful and responsible members of society.
At Lindow Community Primary School, our Religious Education curriculum encourages children to explore life's big questions and develop an understanding of the diverse world in which they live. Through studying a range of religions and worldviews, pupils learn about different beliefs, traditions and ways of life while reflecting on their own values and experiences. RE promotes curiosity, respect and understanding, helping children to appreciate diversity and prepare for life in modern Britain and the wider world.
