Year 3 - Miss Smith & Mrs Marchington

Welcome

Welcome to Year 3!

We’re thrilled to welcome you to the first year of Key Stage 2! This year, our class will be supported by the wonderful Mrs. Jackson and we can’t wait to begin a year full of exciting learning adventures together.

In Year 3, we aim to nurture the children’s natural curiosity by encouraging them to ask questions, share ideas, and take an active part in discussions. Our learning is hands-on, engaging, and full of opportunities for creativity, exploration, and drama. Throughout the year, we will focus on developing the children’s confidence, independence, and resilience. We’ve carefully planned a variety of rich learning experiences designed to help them grow into capable, curious, and motivated learners, ready to thrive throughout Key Stage 2.

Each half term, we’ll dive into a new topic that links across many areas of the National Curriculum. These topics bring our learning to life with exciting activities, investigations, challenges, and creative projects. We’re especially excited to introduce French this year, a new subject for the children to discover! As we progress through the year, we will support every child in becoming a more independent learner- someone who’s not afraid to take on challenges, solve problems, and take pride in their own achievements.

We want every child in Year 3 to feel proud of who they are and all they accomplish. We can’t wait to see just how much they’ll grow!

Please take a look at our curriculum overview to find out more about the topics we’ll be covering this term.
