Absences & Lateness

• Reporting an Absence: If your child is absent for any reason, the school must be informed by phone or letter.

• Contact Deadline: Please phone us on 01625 917269 before 9:30 am on the first morning of your child's absence. This ensures your child is safe at home and prevents the absence from being marked as unauthorised. If we do not hear from you, we will attempt to make contact.

• Statutory Monitoring: The Department for Education requires careful monitoring of all student absences.

Attendance & Punctuality

Good attendance and punctuality are essential to children’s learning and progress. Because we are legally required to act upon low attendance and punctuality, the governing body continually monitors both school-wide data and individual attendance. We regularly review and update our policies and practices to encourage excellent attendance for all.

Term-Time Holidays

• We ask that parents restrict holidays to official school holiday dates to ensure your child's education suffers minimum disruption.

• Exceptional Circumstances: Any request for a term-time absence must be made in writing using our official request form, which can be downloaded below. Absences will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.

• Fines & Legal Guidance: In line with DfE instructions, parents may be issued a fine for unauthorised absences from school.

If you require a prescription or necessary medication to be administered to your child during the school day, please download, complete, and return the medical consent form linked below.
