Year 5 - Miss Smith
Welcome to Year 5! This year, we will be supported in class by Miss Stone, Mrs Hobson, Mrs Worsley and Mrs Glenister.
Year 5 is both challenging and exciting as we consolidate our learning from previous year groups as well as learn new concepts ready to apply in Year 6. We will be learning through some new and exciting topics that inspire the children’s curiosity and engagement.
Throughout Year 5, we want children to be the best version of themselves by setting regular goals and challenges to promote confidence, independence and resilience to their learning. We encourage our children to adopt a growth mindset in year 5, which encourages the children to believe that they can work towards anything if they set their mind to it!
As the children progress through their Year 5 journey, there will be a wealth of opportunity for the children to strive in all areas of the curriculum. Each half-term, we immerse ourselves into a new topic which cover all aspects of the National Curriculum.

Our curriculum is driven by our ‘Lindow Life Skills’, which correlates with our aim for Year 5 children to gain increasing independence, resilience and character strength to become kind and caring members of the community.
We also have our own class dojo page where children are given dojo points for working hard, good teamwork, perseverance etc. We post messages to the closed parent group, which is great for keeping in contact and sharing current learning.
