Geography at Lindow Community Primary School

The vision of the Geography curriculum at Lindow Community Primary School is to give every pupil:

  • A strong understanding of the world around them, from their local community in Wilmslow to the wider globe.
  • The knowledge and skills to explore, question and investigate both human and physical geographical features and processes.
  • An appreciation of the diverse environments, cultures and communities that make up our world.
  • An understanding of how people and places are interconnected, and how human actions can shape the environment.
  • The ability to communicate geographical understanding confidently using accurate and appropriate geographical vocabulary.
  • Opportunities to develop fieldwork, map-reading and enquiry skills that foster curiosity and independence.
  • A lasting interest in the world around them and a commitment to becoming responsible, informed global citizens.

At Lindow Community Primary School, our Geography curriculum inspires children to be curious about the world and their place within it. Through engaging enquiries, fieldwork and exploration, pupils develop a deeper understanding of people, places and environments, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to make sense of an ever-changing world.
